About Us
LiqiDT is split into two companies, LiqiDT Loan Management, who run the back office in terms of organising due diligence, credit rating and loan management, and LiqiDT Capital Markets, which is the capital market business, initially operating in partnership with an established exchange group.
Our first market is in London, with Paris, New York, Singapore and Abu Dhabi in the pipeline, delivering solutions and services globally in private debt. Founding Team
Nicholas Luthwood, CEO
Nicholas comes from a background of M&A and strategic advisory, having worked for a range of companies in the UK and US both as head of corporate development in-house, and external strategy consultant. He holds his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, an MSc in Management in economics from the Open University and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Portsmouth.
Dougal Brech, Director
Dougal comes from a background in prime brokerage, having headed this function globally for both Credit Suisse and Nomura, as well as having served as a director at Morgan Stanley. One of the best-known people in the alternative asset space, Dougal is a graduate of Queen Mary University of London, as well as MIT’s Media Lab Cryptocurrency course
William Vandyk, Finance Director
William has a history in financial services as well as early-stage venture growth. He has previously headed strategy and corporate finance at Schroders Personal Wealth and managed corporate finance and M&A for brokerages. William holds his MBA from Imperial College, London, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Queen Mary University of London
Meirion Morgan, Chief Technology Officer
Meirion has created a number of fixed-income trading platforms for banks, including constructing their counterparty credit algorithms. He has also worked with asset management firms in developing technology-based approaches and lectured in risk and capital markets, including private credit. Meirion holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Oxford, together with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Cardiff University.
Claire Cummings, Legal & Regulatory Advisor
Claire is a leading solicitor specialising in crypto and DeFi law and regulation. She is on the advisory board of a crypto exchange and is a member of the Global Digital Finance working group on stablecoins. Claire has also acted as compliance officer, MLRO and director of an FCA regulated fund manager and qualified under SIB to trade derivatives. Claire is named at the Top 10 influencer in London for hedge funds (2022), is included in the CityWealth Crypto Top 100 (2022) and in the Top 100 Most Influential People in Service Provision to the Investment Space (2023).
Naseer Al-Khudairi, Capital Markets
Naseer is from a pure capital markets background, having headed electronic trading for both Credit Suisse and Barclays, and been part of the launches of both Chi-X and Turquoise. He holds a M.Eng with honours in Computing from Imperial College.
